Canada’s Food Guide to Healthy Eating recommends Canadians to eat fish to take advantage of the many health benefits including healthy fats.
Also, Health Canada recommends pregnant women and women at childbearing age to have at least 150 grams (5 ounces) of fish each week.
Adding more fish and seafood to your diet can be a heart healthy choice as part of a balanced diet. However, it is estimated that Canadians only get 3-4 servings of seafood per month – less than half of what the Food Guide recommends. Are you getting enough?
