For the first time, the U.S. government is advising all Americans, including pregnant and breastfeeding women, to eat seafood at least twice a week for heart and brain benefits. Previously, the twice-a-week recommendation was limited to heart patients.

The acquisition of all Bumble Bee's assets and operations from Centre Partners Management LLC has been completed today, valued at $980 million, advised by Lion Capital LLP, the new owner of Bumble Bee Foods, Clover Leaf Seafoods, Brunswick, Snow’s, Beach Cliff, King Oscar and Sweet Sue brands.

The company produces and markets shelf-stable tuna, salmon, sardines, clams and other specialty seafood products that are sold under the Clover Leaf, Brunswick, Bumble Bee, Snow's, Beach Cliff, King Oscar and Sweet Sue brands. Its best-known brands, Clover Leaf and Bumble Bee, are iconic market leaders. The transaction is expected to be completed by year-end.
