The Nature Trust of New Brunswick has received a gift from Connors Brothers Clover Leaf Seafoods Company. The company is donating a key piece of property to be used as a nature preserve.

Four New Brunswickers and a Blacks Harbour company [Connors Bros. Clover Leaf Seafoods] were among those honoured with Gulf of Maine Council on the Marine Environment Awards at a Fredericton hosted by Environment and Local Government Minister Bruce Fitch.

In an unusual health study, researchers analyzing toxin levels in tens of thousands of toenail clippings over a period of decades determined that mercury from eating fish does not raise the risk of heart disease or stroke, according to this article by The Associated Press, posted March 24th, 2011 on It goes on to say that "The average person should eat fish as part of a healthy diet," and not worry about ill heart effects, said Harvard School of Public Health cardiologist Dr. Dariush Mozaffarian, who led the research published in the March 24 edition of the New England Journal of Medicine., Wednesday, March 23, 2011

On the website, Amanda Gardner's article draws findings from the New England Journal of Medicine report which concludes that the researchers found no relationship between mercury exposure from eating fish and the risk of heart attack and stroke.
